M34
Messier 34 is an Open Cluster
that consists of about 100 bright starts. It is about 1,400 light
years from Earth and is an estimated 180 million years
young. At a bright mag 5.2, it is visible to the naked eye under
good conditions, in binoculars it should sparkle. Finding it
should
be easy as it follows the Andromeda Galaxy's trail, and rises about 1.5
hours later. This image was taken on Nov 13, 2004 under seasonaly
