- the Orion Nebula. The Orion Nebula is
quite remarkable as it is easily visible with the naked eye.
Located only 1,600 light years away it is a massive region of star
birth. Look for it in the winter sky just below the 3
stars that make Orion's belt. This image taken on Nov 13, 2004
replaces the previous image taken one year earlier. It is a
composite lrgb with 20 minutes exposure time.
