M74
This Spiral Galaxy in the
constellation Pisces, also known as NGC628 is a distant 35 million
lightyears away and appears as a mag 9.4 object. I imaged
this object here for the 3rd year in a row, there is now a missing
object. This year you can't see the supernova remnant at all,
last year it showed up as a faint star and two years ago it showed up
one of the brightest stars in the image! This composite is
a total of 70 minutes of exposure time. There are at least two
very faint and small galaxies that also appear, at a one oclock
position from the main galaxy you can find PGC 138420 at a very faint
mag 17.2 and PGC 1488343 at mag 17.8 shows up around 10 oclock.
