NCG 6888
Also
known as
the
Crescent Nebula in the Cygnus Constellation. The gas cloud
is
quite faint and is largely hydrogen, so a hydrogen alpha filter
was used to take 1/2 hour of exposure time for the luminance
layer. The 15
minutes each of RGB barely reveal the very faint object, fortunately
the HA
filter manages to bring out more of the nebula. This image is a
total exposure of 75
minutes and was taken
on June 23, 2004.
